E-FLAPS Flying Field in Gig Harbor
The Catholic Church owns the property we use as our Gig Harbor flying field and allows us to fly there as long as we are good neighbors.
It’s a former horse pasture and can have tall weeds or hay growing. The caretaker for the property usually mows a “landing area” for us each spring. We mostly fly sailplanes and models that don’t need a smooth runway.
There are almost always good thermals out there on nice days. Soaring flights of up to two hours and more are possible. The best times for thermal activity seem to be late morning to early afternoon, but that can vary a lot.
There is a club port-a-potty on the field.
Please see the General Rules for flying at this field.
